Went over to Cooden Beach at 1430 (Low tide minus 3.5) intending to kitesurf, but there were LOADS of really good windsurfers out and noone kiting. It was blowing 20kts and the shore break was munching peeps who were at the same (windsurf) level as me.

So I headed beck to the caravan at Normans Bay to rig up a 5.0 and my Mystery. Took almost an hour as I had to hacksaw a new fin screw and my downhaul snapped. ARGH!

Lugged kit to beach to find wind had dropped. Lugged kit back and derigged, going for the Starboard and a 5.4. Turned out to be the best combo for me, as it was floaty enough for the lulls but no too out-of-control on the mad bits. Did some great jumps over waves, some of them even on purpose.

Wind dropped towards sunset so got washed in about 50m downwind but a good session. I just remember those good guys at Cooden and wonder if I will EVER be able to carve gybe... *sigh!*
